Music comes to Brecon

Brecon Jazz Festival -
25th Anniversary
Brecon festival was awarded the 'Best Major Event' Accolade in 2004 in the 2007 National Tourism Awards.

This festival brings talent from all around the world, Catherine Jenkins has graced us with her presence, and by all accounts was sensational. Jools Holland is a regular as well as Scott Hamilton and Martin Taylor.

Many of the venues are by entrance fee or ticket purchase, but many are free, and there are all types of acts around the town, perfoming in the streets, all for your enjoyment.

Although in 2006 all street buskers and entertainers were stopped, they are thankfully back making for a far better atmosphere.

This year there will be appearances by old favourites such as Lee Konitz, Louis Hayes and newcomers Joan Armatrading, and Cerys Matthews, to name but a few.

When visiting Brecon for the Jazz weekend, remember to come early, as parking is at a premium, and book early, as places do go very quickly.

The town of Brecon is friendly and set in stunning surroundings.

There is a real carnival atmosphere in the town on Jazz Weekend, and all visitors are made to feel welome.

Brecon Fringe Festival happens alongside the Brecon Jazz, between the 10th and 12th August, entertainers can be found in bars, local cafes, and many of these are free. So even if Jazz is not your scene, there is something for everyone here.

So why not make a date in your diaries and come and look us up.
